I just wanted to include a couple of Dua Lipa singles that I didn't get around to investigating last time. First, Be the One, released in December:
It has a fun, somewhat panicky beat, but I'm not an enormous fan of the video. It's not bad, but I think I'm missing some essential symbolism. Am I just too old and not getting it? Email me if you can figure out what it means, especially the ending.
For some luscious singing, here's Thinking ‘Bout You:
Strangely, I like her pop-infused beats better. However, this is a much better way to just sit back and enjoy her voice.
And last, here's her current hit, a Martin Garrix-Dua Lipa collaboration:
Unfortunately, I find the lyrics a little–simple? Maybe it's unfair to expect anything more from a 20 year old? But it's classic Martin Garrix, earworm-y and pleasant.
