My current obsession (well, my continual obsession) is with crossover. I love crossover in any form. Fusion in food. Crossover in music. Mashups. Blends.
I was not a “goth rock” fan until one of my kids turned me on to Evanescence. Still, their lyrics and vibe are bit dark for me. I'm just not a sad person, I think, and it's hard for me to mentally “go there.”
But their latest album, Synthesis, is the kind of crossover I just love.

I absolutely love it when artists stretch themselves to embrace another genre. Count me in.
