I’m so envious of my son’s summer trip to Istanbul, even though it’s short and it’s focused on his research work for his thesis. He is a history major (please don’t ask me if he plans to be a teacher after graduation, I’ll probably throw something, because that’s not how the liberal arts work, and that’s a post for another day) and his thesis is about Byzantine walls…I think? I love this photo he sent us with his glass of Turkish tea at a cafe next to the walls.
Above and following are a few more wonderful mosque calls. I do miss Istanbul. Hoping to get back there soon.
